Our carpenters are skilled at removing damaged boards and replacing them with new ones to create an invisible repair. For a prefinished floor, this is often the only step necessary. Generally, but not always, on an unfinished floor, refinishing is needed to blend the new wood.

Sanders are and difficult to control. In untrained hands, they can bounce along a floor, causing “chatter marks” or dig too deeply into the wood causing uneven spots and shortening a floor’s life. Our craftsmen are schooled well in the proper handling of these cumbersome machines to remove only the amount of material necessary to smooth the floor and prepare it for staining.

We offer dustless sanding; a real convenience if you are living in your home while the hardwood floor rejuvenation is being done.

If your floor is losing its shine due to wear, we can scuff sand the top layer and add a coat of finish to renew its original look. This process does not repair damaged boards, nor sand out scratches, but does add protection to a floor that is in good shape to help prolong its life and beauty. A floor that is maintained by frequent recoating could go for decades without needing to be sanded or replaced.
